  1. Welcome to my best, most well-researched optimization guide to date! I’ve fixed a few inaccuracies from my May 2025 guide and provided clearer explanations of each optimization. Enjoy the smoother FPS!

  2. when i click on the time and date in the bottom right corner, nothing pops up. its because of these changes or something else?

  3. Just a heads up for anyone trying this: on my Ryzen 7 9700X + RTX 5070 system, these optimizations actually reduced performance.

Before the tweaks I was averaging around 378 FPS in my repeatable CS2 test with ~156 FPS 1% lows. After applying the tweaks and rebooting, 5 runs averaged around 360 FPS with ~138 FPS 1% lows, so both average FPS and frametime performance got worse.

Also worth mentioning that the restore point created beforehand failed for me with error 0x8007045b while trying to restore AppxStaging, so don’t assume the restore point will automatically work if you want to undo everything.
