Join me as I share my experience with the Aqara W200 Smart Thermostat. This thermostat is the first to be compatible with Apple’s Adaptive Temperature, a feature many of us have been excited to try! In this video I share my thoughts on that new feature.

I want these – I have two zones in my home – but until they have the ‘sensor averaging’ it just won’t do it for me. One thermostat is in my bedroom, for the upstairs zone, and one in my dining room for downstairs. But I’m never in the dining room and rarely (awake) in my bedroom, so presence and temp in those rooms doesn’t help. I need downstairs to be monitoring either my living room or my ‘work area’, and upstairs my ‘home gym’.
Great video, though! I’m convinced that once Aqara adds the feature, it’ll be worth replacing my Ecobee units. Maybe I can even get a rebate from my electric company to do it. (I saved $100 each on the Ecobee units, many years ago…)
I would like to know if there are any privacy concerns, It seems that every new product that has come out lately seems to be invading privacy by collection information and data form electronic devices.
Now that it’s been a few months, would recommend this thermostat or Google Nest 4th Gen Learning? Thanks
Does it make an audible click sound when activating?
Just installed mine yesterday. One issue that came up was that I was switching from a Sensi thermostat which has the red wire going to Rh so when I duplicated the wiring to my Aqara, it didn’t power up. Then I learned the Sensi has a jumper to Rh and Rc. I reconnected the red to Rc on the Aqara and it worked. My only other issue is that the wall cover is kind of big and cheap looking so I ended up patching the old holes and repainting so I didn’t have to use it. Definitely worth the extra effort.
