Today’s question from Rax is, “I just upgraded to the Canon R6 body, which has In Body Image Stabilization, or IBIS. What’s the difference between that and the optical stabilization on a lens? Do I really need both, or can I buy the less-expensive lens without IS?”

THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!
I really want to buy the RF 35mm f/1.4, I’ve been waiting for that lens, but it doesn’t have IS. Do you think that will cause me problems? By the way, I’m a videographer and I use the R6 MKII. Thanks.
Ibis is mostly good for video
#DavidBergman. What is the difference between lens image stabilization vs camera body image stabilization?
Thanks to the person who asked this question and thank you for answering it. This is just what I was looking for today. Just got into Cannon with a R6 mark two and I’m looking at an older EF lens with no stabilization.
I have a question so o. Long exposure with the r6 mk 11 I turn off IS should I use MF or leave on AF, lastly can you turn Ibis off too or leave it on on long exposure, the reason I’m asking i. Getting blur on my long exposure on a tripod with Image stabilising off. Struggling with this on my 90d no problems help please.
