  1. Still too bulky, and more tech than they need. Offboarding computing to the puck is the right move, but that should go much further. All the glasses need to do is display a video signal onto the lenses and transmit a video signal back to the puck while having a decent battery. Everything else should be external.

Give me two controller rings that I can wear on each index finger with a single thumb button to simplify hand tracking and controls. Ship them with the glasses and a charging pod like my AirPods.

Remove the speakers, we all already have Bluetooth earbuds or headphones.

Simplify head tracking with the displays, I don’t need Instagram to hover in a certain place in my room. Having “tabs” at my peripherals I can pull up by pointing with the rings is all I need, they can stay stationary in the lense while I look around.

The BIGGEST thing overall is comfort and appearance. If the glasses only have apple watch levels of functionality, but they look good and are comfortable to wear, and people will use them.

They shouldn’t be a media device, they should be a wearable device.

Show me texts and emails as they come in while I ride the train. Let me have Google Maps in a small window in the corner of my eyes while I bike, drive or walk around.

For the rest, let me connect them to my phone. If I want, let me cast a YouTube video from my phone to the lenses. Let me connect to M365 and move files around in real time at a meeting without whipping out my phone.

Overall, they don’t need to let me play video games, simulate a holographic tv and help me with pool shots to be a viable product. They just need to add a little bit of convenience while being pleasant to use. Start with the iPhone 1 of smart glasses, don’t waste billions on trying to develop the iPhone 17 out of the gate. The advancements can be funded by the products adoption, the product doesn’t need to come with every advancement in the first try to be adopted. Get us something basic and profitable, and then let innovation do its work like with every other successful piece of tech we all use on a daily basis.
